Need to cancel a trip? GoGuide handles the cancellation and the refund (if you want one) in a single flow.
---
Step 1: Open the Booking
- Go to the Bookings or Schedule tab from the left-hand menu.
- Click into the booking you want to cancel.
---
Step 2: Click Cancel
- On the right-hand side of the booking, find the Schedule Actions panel.
- Click the red Cancel button.
- A Cancel Booking confirmation window will appear.
---
Step 3: Choose Whether to Refund
The window asks: "Refund all payments?" with Yes / No options.
- Yes (default) — GoGuide cancels the booking *and* refunds every payment that's been collected through the platform. The GoGuide service fee comes back too; Stripe processing fees are non-refundable.
- No — GoGuide cancels the booking but does not issue a refund. Use this if you've already arranged something else with the customer (e.g., kept the deposit as a cancellation fee, applied it to a future trip, or plan to issue a partial refund through Stripe directly).
---
Step 4: Confirm
- Click Yes, cancel to commit.
- Click No, close to back out — nothing on the booking will change.
After confirming, the booking reloads with a Cancelled status badge. If you refunded, the Refunded Amount on the payment row will reflect the returned total and the Amount Paid drops to $0.00.
---
Key Notes
- ✔ One flow covers both the cancellation and the refund — no separate tool to chase down.
- ✔ Full refunds through this flow also return the GoGuide service fee (from GoGuide, not the outfitter).
- ✔ For **partial refunds** (e.g., keeping a deposit as a cancellation fee), choose **No** above and cancel or refund from the booking. See Workflow: How to Refund a Payment
