In GoGuide, a draft booking is a trip that has been created but has not yet been paid for. When a customer starts the checkout process, a booking is generated and marked as a draft. However, availability is not fully reserved until payment is completed.
Once a draft booking is created:
- The customer receives a checkout link, which is valid for 24 hours.
- If payment is completed within this timeframe, the draft booking is confirmed.
- If the payment is not completed, the draft booking expires, the trip is canceled, and availability is released.
This system ensures flexibility for customers while preventing unpaid bookings from holding spots indefinitely.
